While it is unclear whether "Yuri!!! On ICE" will, indeed, have a second season or not, the latest reports claim that the next installment of the anime series may be finally announced this April 29 at the upcoming "Yuri!!! On Stage" event.

Despite deviating from the usual and the more popular fantasy-themed and combat-style anime, it managed to establish its own fan base that continues to grow. In spite of the undeniable popularity of the anime series, though, there is still no official announcement on the series' next season. However, many fans are expecting that the next installment of the anime is happening as, after all, it was the series' creator, Mitsuro Kubo, who revealed that she is working on the story of "Yuri!!! On ICE" season 2.

Nonetheless, it is said that "Yuri!!! On ICE" season 2 may finally be officially announced before the month ends as the anime series is holding a "Yuri!!! On Stage" event on April 29, where can fans can also purchase various merchandise items related to the anime series in addition to other organized activities.

Apart from the possibility on the announcement of "Yuri!!! On ICE" season 2 at the said event, it is also suspected that the event may also be an opportunity to release the official trailer of the anime series and offer hints on how its story may pan out.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports also claim that the upcoming season 2 of "Yuri!!! On ICE" may highlight the rivalry between the two Yuris, Katsuki and Plisetsky. To recall, Plisetsky creamed Katusiki in the figure-skating Grand Prix competition in the season finale of the anime series last year. As Plisetsky has considered Katsuki his figure-skating nemesis since then, it is, indeed, possible for "Yuri!!! On ICE" season 2 to cast the spotlight on their rivalry.
