The first season of the series received consistent good reviews from critics as the story of the Young Sheldon Cooper, played by Iain Armitage, continues. The first season is composed of 22 episodes, and the show has released 5 episodes so far.

The sixth episode, titled "A Patch, a Modem, and a Zantac," introduces a representative from The National Aeronautics and Space Administration to challenge Sheldon's science research. According to the episode preview, Sheldon wants to buy a computer he can use. There are no further spoilers if Sheldon will succeed in getting the money to buy his computer. The episode also reveals Sheldon's real reason on why he decided to take theoretical physics. Sheldon also throws his first tantrum in the upcoming episode.

According to TV by the Numbers, the fifth episode generated 11.43 million viewers and gained positive feedback.

In the previous episodes, new characters were introduced such as Sheldon's grandmother Meemaw (Annie Potts) and his Vietnamese friend Tam (Ryan Phuong). In the fifth episode, "Goodfellas" star Ray Liotta appeared as Vincent. Liotta's character only appeared as a guest star, and there are still no updates from the producers if he will be a regular in the series.

The show's score rating from Rotten Tomatoes is 74 percent and 63 percent from Metacritics. Goldderby reported that Armitage could possibly win a Golden Globe award for his performance in "Young Sheldon." Golden Globe winner Jim Parsons, who plays the older version of Sheldon in the series "The Big Bang Theory," won the Best TV Comedy Actor award back in 2011.

The report also revealed that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which manages the Golden Globe awards, is fond of the Sheldon Cooper character.

"Young Sheldon" season 1 episode 6 airs tonight, Nov. 30, at 8:30 pm on CBS.
