YIFY/YTS torrent site shut down confirmed

For folks who frequent the web, YIFT/YTS could be a familiar site to visit. Unfortunately the site is no longer accessible after weeks of being down. And the worst fear for torrent seeders has been confirmed via TorrentFreak — YIFY/YTS is no more.

This should be bad news for BitTorrent downloaders who have been getting high quality videos from the site for over a decade now. While YIFY/YTS has confirmed that it is closing shop, the real reason behind it has yet to be revealed.

The site was down for several days and many felt that there may have just been something up at their end. But as it turned out, BitTorrent folks may have to turn to other sites to look for high quality movies to download.

YIFY came into existence back in 2010 and there have been reportedly over 6,000 releases since then. The site was so popular that even one of their sites (YTS.to) claims to have had as much as a million unique visitors daily.

Although this is seen as another point for the battle of piracy, it will certainly not be the final nail on the coffin with lots of sites still up, seeding torrent files.

The site was a good source for folks who wanted high quality and high definition files. Frequent visitors to the site know that 720p and 1080p movies were available for download, ranging from current to old films.

It also remains to be seen if the New Zealand-based YIFY had faced any legal pressure for its continuous serving of ripped and illegal movies as the owners remain mum on the real reason behind the sudden closure.

While this becomes a dark day for leechers, there are still other sites up and about and most likely a new site to be up soon to take the place of YIFY/ YTS.

YIFY/YTS is down forever! All the new torrents are fake. Please don't download them!Bye Bye Everybody!!

The mystery of the Wise Men

The carol assures us that “We three kings of Orient are…” and tells us they were “following yonder star”. Can we be sure there were three of them? Were they kings? Where in the Orient were they from? What was the star they followed? In fact, there is a lot that we just do not know. This is the story …
