Despite the announcement of the last season for the hit fantasy thriller series "The Orginals," many fans are still restless as to what the final installment of the show has to bring. Moreover, shippers of the "KIaroline" love team are getting their hopes high.

The final season of the series will center on Hope (Danielle Rose Rusell) as she attends the Salvatore Boarding School for The Gifted and Talented. What fans can expect is a promised romance between the teen and another vampire. The trailer released in July showed a brief summary of what had transpired over the past season and revealed that the upcoming season will see Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) as enemies once again.

Candice King will also return as Caroline Forbes for the fifth season. King previously posted a photo of her and Morgan on Instagram, making Klaroline fans think that the characters would somehow be together in the last season. As Cami (Leah Pipes) had died in season 3 and transformed as a ghost, fans are again rooting for the couple "Klaroline" to happen, especially now that the blonde vampire will return to New Orleans to help Klaus.

A set of new faces will also join the cast of the season 5 of "The Originals." Torrance Coombs will play Declan, an Irish chef unaware of the occurrence of supernatural beings and Hayley's new love interest. Jedidiah Goodacre will play Roman, a schoolmate and potential love interest of Hope.

Creator Julie Plec revealed in July that the fifth season will be the last run of the series. The creator said, "Ending a show is always bittersweet, but for me, it's a true blessing to be a part of making that choice." Plec's disclosure came on the anniversary of the farewell announcement for "The Vampire Diaries."

"The Originals" season 5 will air sometime in 2018 on The CW.
