'The Flash' Season 4 Episode 18 spoilers & plot news: Team becomes desperate to defeat The Thinker as Harry takes risk with new thinking cap invention

The heroes will try harder to defeat Clifford DeVoe/The Thinker (Neil Sandilands) in the next episode of CW's "The Flash" season 4. For the past few episodes, it appears that the current season's big bad has always been one step ahead of Team Flash, which will push the latter to the edge. In episode 18, titled "Losing Yourself," Ralph Dibny (Hartley Sawyer) will put his life at risk in order to bring down the enemy. Meanwhile, Harry (Tom Cavanagh) might experience the consequence of his new tool, which he believes will help them take on DeVoe.

"RALPH CONSIDERS CROSSING A LINE TO DEFEAT THE THINKER — When Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash find a way to enter The Thinker's lair, Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) considers crossing a dangerous line to defeat DeVoe.

Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) is concerned by Harry's (Tom Cavanagh) recent behavior," the official synopsis for episode 18 reads. There is no hint regarding Ralph's next move to defeat The Thinker, although his desperation was very evident in the previous episode, which might ultimately lead to an unwanted disaster.

Aside from Ralph, Harry has his own tool at his disposal that he can use to defeat The Thinker. To recall, the scientist was able to devise a special thinking cap apparatus that will grant the user vast knowledge. In their ongoing battle with The Thinker, Team Flash's only way to outwit the villain is to obtain more superior intelligence.

Unfortunately, this technology may also induce a different personality in the user, as Harry's changing behavior becomes noticeable. Some fans worry that this could be a way for the character to go dark, according to Express UK.

"The Flash" season 4 is down to its last six episodes, which explains the apparent build-up to a huge battle against The Thinker.

Although, Team Flash should make sure that there will be minimal collateral damage during this fight. "The Flash" season 4 episode 18 will air next Tuesday, April 17 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
