Outfielder Josh Hamilton is back on the lineup after the Texas Rangers activated him from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.

Hamilton has been out of it since May 31 after he suffered a left hamstring injury.

Before getting traded back to the Rangers last April, Hamilton was with the Los Angeles Angels and was on the disabled list after undergoing shoulder surgery.

"I feel good. I'm excited about playing today. I took early BP to knock some of the dust off. It felt good. I'm just trying to get back into a routine," ESPN quoted Hamilton as saying.

"I just want to be myself. I want to have fun and be myself. I'll have some good days and be able to contribute to help my team win. I'm not going to play good all the time ... but I can still be a presence and encourage my teammates and have fun and play," he added.

The five-time All-Star player was limited to seven games this season. He will play against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday.

Hamilton is batting .273, with two home runs and five RBIs, and he is fifth on the lineup upon his return and in left field, according to ESPN.

Rangers rookie third baseman Joey Gallo was sent to the minors to give roster space for Hamilton. The Rangers purchased Gallo's contract from Double-A Frisco on June 2. He was hitting .218, ripping five homers with 13 RBIs in 25 games in his first major league season, ESPN reported.

"It was a tremendously good experience just to be up here and kind of just see what the big league life is and face the pitchers that we faced. I had some success and I had some failures. I kind of experienced both things," ESPN quoted Gallo, 21, as saying.

Despite the demotion, Gallo remained optimistic and said: "Now, I know what I need to work on and what I need to get better at so I can come up here and stay next time."
