'Taken' Season 2 Premiere Date, plot news: Episode 1 to be a daring escape from Mexico?

Fans of "Taken" are about to be taken aback, as a new synopsis has been revealed for the first episode of the series, and it apparently features Bryan Mills (Clive Standen) in a bid for survival inside a Mexican prison.

Bryan will not be staying for long, however, since he will be planning an escape into the US by cutting some corners and making some dangerous deals inside the prison. Complications arise when Bryan, during his escape, comes across a young migrant girl who was kidnapped by human traffickers. He now faces the dilemma of looking after himself or the girl.

It can be recalled that Bryan got himself in prison after he defied the orders of Christina Hart (Jennifer Beals) during the finale of season 1. Bryan went after and killed the man who murdered his sister, getting caught by Mexican authorities in the process and landing himself a spot in jail.

Bryan would not be without help from his friends in the US as well since Christina has been hard at work in obtaining a new device and software which could help locate Bryan in Mexico. This could mean that episode 1 of the upcoming season might treat fans to an exhilarating high stakes escape and chase, where Bryan's botched break out could get salvaged by Christina's resourcefulness.

Christina will also likely be employing the help of two new recruits in the form of Santana (Jessica Camacho) and Kilroy (Adam Goldberg), both of whom are malefactors with one even being jailed by Christian herself. This means that Christina and her new team may be working under the radar and going rogue for the rest of season 2, as her legal team of experts was taken from her command back in season 1. They will have to bring back Bryan first though before attending to other matters.

Fans will find out whether Bryan can escape the Mexican prison once the episode 1 of "Taken" season 2, titled "S.E.R.E.," airs on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
