'Suits' season 5 finale spoilers: Mike or Harvey set to go to prison?

 USA Network

Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) is running out of time and Harvey (Gabriel Macht) is running out of options. The official promo trailer for "Suits" season 5 episode 16, the season's finale, places these two problems front and center as Mike declares that their charade is over and that he is not willing to let Harvey take the fall.

In the trailer, Mike is seen telling Harvey that everything is over, which Harvey immediately refuses to believe. Harvey and Mike have been able to successfully keep Mike's secret -- that he never studied or was licensed to practice law -- hidden from prying eyes for five years but in light of Mike's case, everything is now set to fall apart.

Harvey then claims that all of the issues were his fault, indicating that he is taking the blame since he was the one that came up with the idea of hiring Mike in the first place despite knowing Mike's lack of qualifications. Mike rebukes him, explaining that he will not allow Harvey to go to jail for a crime that Mike willingly committed.

Despite the low chances, the official synopsis from Cartermatt indicates that Mike and Harvey may still get out of this predicament. According to the synopsis, Mike still has one option to play and that this may be a reckless maneuver in order to save him and Harvey, as well as the whole law firm, from getting into serious legal trouble.

The previous episode ended with Mike approaching Anita Gibbs (Leslie Hope), the ruthless government prosecutor who turned out to be one of the few people in support of their secret. It is undetermined at this point what Mike and Anita might have planned but it may be able to keep Mike and Harvey out of jail before the end of the court trial.

"Suits" season 5 finale will air this March 2.
