'Star Wars: Battlefront II' rumors: Datamining reveals possible DLC for the game

The galaxy expands ever so increasingly in "Star Wars Battlefront II," as the most recent datamining leak for the game has revealed the next addition for the first-person shooter (FPS) game.

A disclaimer is in order though, as the datamined information has not been confirmed yet by the developers, meaning they could still change it or forego it altogether. The most notable leaks are the new characters which will be added to the roster of in-game heroes. These are the Stormtrooper-turned-rebel Finn and the imposing Captain Phasma of the First Order. There will also be new weapons, as well as new maps, which guarantee full-scale battles, meaning simultaneous ground and air combat.

A YouTube video of the datamined leaks reveals the 3D-rendered model for Captain Phasma, donning her conspicuous silver Stormtrooper armor minus the cape, which is expected to be added later. Phasma will also have the ability to regenerate missing health much more efficiently than other heroes, making a natural frontliner and powerhouse.

Meanwhile, a new set of maps are also bound to be released; these are The Death Star II, Kashyuyk, Hoth, and Jakku. Many fans expect more since the leaks are usually not representative of the final additions to the FPS. Needless to say, most of the upcoming and expected additions to the game are from "Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi," meaning it may be set to arrive after the movie has been shown and not before, so as to not spoil anything about the saga.

It is not yet confirmed whether "The Last Jedi" downloadable content (DLC) will be released along with the rumored General Grievous character or the hidden character customization menu.

For those unfamiliar, Datamining is the act of turning raw data into readable and useful information. It involves using specific software to find patterns in large sizes of data. These are mostly used to analyze consumer preferences but can also be utilized to discover future plans for media. So far, no exact release has been confirmed by the developers.
