Sony Xperia Z5 Compact problems update: Snapdragon 810 overheating bug present?

Each time we hear of a device making use of a Snapdragon 810 processor, it seems almost automatic that overheating would be an issue.

Of course, there are devices that have used the same processor without such problems, but now there seems to be a new entrant to the Snapdragon 810 overheating issue in the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact.

According to a report by Android Headlines, the mentioned device has been plagued by overheating issues. One factor that is seen as a possible reason is its small size.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact is, however, using the redesigned Snapdragon 810 V2 processor, something that has allegedly addressed the believed overheating issues of old. It is the same one used by the Huawei Nexus 6P and the OnePlus 2.

By now and despite its small make, the overheating issues should have been fixed, but it seems that the phone where it would be used is still a concern. In fact, much of the overheating management issues seem to be blamed on the compact design, although the complaints are sparse.

Aside from the compact design, it seems that another cause for the overheating issue is the processor throttling. Such makes the device too hot to handle and would eventually make the device useless.

The whole issue has not yet fully blown out and Sony has remained mum on the matter. But in case it does get out of hand, a fix could help at a certain degree.

Hence, the worst case scenario is seen as a recall for the ones who have bought the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact.

This whole mess, in case it does get full blown, will hurt Sony, and whatever tactic they may use to resolve the matter will weigh in heavily.

A recall is, of course, a death sentence, but then again a transparent gesture to maintain a good relationship with their customers — no matter how hard that could be.
