Pastor Terry Jones and bikers plan 'Dearborn Freedom Rally' outside biggest mosque

Controversial pastor Terry Jones will lead a protest outside the largest mosque in the country on Flag Day, June 14.

Named the "Dearborn Freedom Rally," Jones will join the American Patriotic Bikers and others who believe the United States is persecuting non-Muslims and spreading Sharia law across the country.

Jones is a pastor of the Dove World Outreach Center in Florida, and known for burning copies of the Quran and effigies of Presidents Obama and Clinton. His protests and condemnations of Islam have led to riots and deaths in Afghanistan.

Outside the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn, Michigan, Pastor Jones will speak to hundreds of protestors about the dangerous direction he believes the country is heading in.

"The main topics will be freedom of speech ... Shari'a, the comparison between Islam and Western society," he told the Detroit Free Press. "Shari'a is not compatible with Western society and Western thinking."

Over 450 people have RSVP'd for the event on the rally's Facebook event page. Organizers wrote that Dearborn is the "nerve center for the Islam Movement in this country," and "the current Administration in Washington has catered to this agenda."

Dearborn is the city with the largest proportion of Arab-Americans in the United States, 40%. Mayor Jack O'Reilly Jr. said that Jones' message is one of intolerance and hate.

"His cause is un-American," O'Reilly said, according to the Detroit Free Press. The Mayor also said that he will be attending the city's official Flag Day commemoration ceremony, held at 7 p.m. at Ford Field Park.

The Arab International Festival, which also takes place in mid-June, was canceled for the second year in a row after conflicts with Christian missionaries in 2010 and 2012 made insurance costs unbearable.
