'Outlander' season 3 spoilers: ari date coming in 2017, 20 year time jump expected

Enthusiastic fans are one step closer to the end of droughtlander haunting them as it has been revealed that "Outlander" will begin production of new episodes for its third season in August.

Since the production is starting earlier than expected, it seems the producers have overcome the technical and logistics challenges they were facing.

Sam Heughan, the 36-year-old Scottish actor who plays Jamie in the series, revealed the news about production work in a Q&A session with the fans of the Starz time traveller series on twitter, while waiting for a delayed flight.

In the midst of dating rumours about Heughan and Caitriona Balf, his excitement over Jamie and Claire's reunion is burning the internet.

According to Heughan's twitter revelations, Season 3 will focus on Jaime, how he was forced to figure himself out without his wife by his side.

Fans and followers might find the season surprising and unexpected as recent reports claim that Season 3 would look like an entirely different show, treading in unknown waters and venturing farther afield in time travel.

In the upcoming season Outlander will introduce a new character when it returns to television in early 2017. Scotland Now spilled the beans on that character being Lord John Grey (Oscar Kennedy) and reported that fans will meet the adult version of him in Season 3 because of the 20-year time jump. Heughan is also going to gain some weight in order to don an older look and portray the older Jaime.

Parent Herald, in a recent post rumoured the death of one of the major characters as Season 3 is expected to depict the 1746 Battle of Culloden. This might leave fans feeling overemotional about the season killing one of its major faces which could either be Jaime or Claire. However sources believe that character fans are going to say goodbye to is that of Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix).
