'Outlander' season 2 spoilers: more Jamie-Claire-Frank tension

Probably one of the most credible sources for "Outlander" season 2 information is the author of the books herself, Diana Gabaldon.

The author attended a Q&A session after the season 1 finale of "Outlander" was aired on Starz, and she gamely answered several inquiries pertaining to the show's direction when it returns for another season. According to Gabaldon, there is no truth to the rumor that the second novel from her best-selling series will be split into two seasons. She said that the writers of the show did a good job in weaving the story for season 2, and she has already seen the outline of the episodes as well as some of the scripts.

Gabaldon also shared that Frank (Tobias Menzies), Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) husband during the World War II era, will get more screen time next season, and the tension between Claire, Frank, and Jamie (Sam Heughan) will still be featured in the upcoming episodes.

Meanwhile, the casting news for "Outlander" season 2 are starting to surface. E! News reported that French actor Stanley Weber has been tapped to portray the role of Le Comte St. Germain, the ruthless wine merchant and French Court member who will also be one of the villains next season. Weber can be remembered for his role as Juan Borgia in Sky Italia's "Borgia."

Jamie and Claire will meet St. Germain, as well as Jamie's second cousin Jared Fraser, when the couple travels to France.

"They'll go to Paris in fact, and they'll try to change history. They'll try to stop the Jacobite rebellion, so they'll meet Bonnie Prince Charlie, a real historical figure. They're going to live in Paris. It's a completely different show," executive producer Ronald D. Moore told E! News.

Jared will be portrayed by Scottish actor Robert Cavanah, according to Access Hollywood
