Nintendo NX release date, news: Ubisoft CEO is raving about the new console

The Nintendo NX still remains the mysterious video game console, but it is already being praised by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. It was announced to be launched by March 2017.

The game developer recently held its annual meeting where the CEO shared his thoughts for the upcoming device from the Japanese maker. Guillemot said briefly, "Nintendo will be back in the race with the NX," WCCFTech reported.

This is not the first time that Ubisoft has spoken well about Nintendo. During a presentation last week, Guillemot also said that: "The new Nintendo [console] is a fantastic machine. It's really a new approach, it's really Nintendo, [which is] coming with something new again. We love it," Gamespot reported.

Disruptions to the hardware business were the main focus of the presentation brought about by Microsoft for its Xbox One, Sony for its PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR, and the Nintendo NX. However, the CEO quickly pointed out, before he gets misinterpreted, that these are all positive disruptions since the game development community has to prove that they can adapt to the changing times.

"We always take disruptions on the positive side. We think each time that it's an opportunity for our creators to take more risks. When a machine is installed, there are a certain number of brands that take up the time of players, so they're going to buy the next 'Assassin's Creed' or 'Call of Duty,'" he also added.

The company is also looking into virtual reality or VR applications. Fans will soon be able to access a vast amount materials and resources, and will not only be for games but also for education purposes.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Tesco, an online retailer, has accidentally published the release date of the Nintendo NX last week. Based on the post which was also immediately taken down, the upcoming console will be released by Dec. 31 for £349.99, which is around $399.99.

The Nintendo NX is expected to see the light of day sometime in March of next year, the reason why fans are skeptical about Tesco's online posting. Many believed that it was just a placeholder date for the product.
