'New Girl' season 5 premiere spoilers: Megan Fox's Reagan seen locking lips with Jake Johnson's Nick Miller

As previously reported, "New Girl" season 5 will momentarily see Jess (Zooey Deschanel) depart after Deschanel filed for maternity leave. To fill in her spot is Megan Fox, who plays a pharmaceutical rep known as Reagan. According to a report from The Daily Mail, Reagan will be sharing an intimate moment with Nick (Jake Johnson).

The report shares several on-set photos that showcase Johnson and Fox filming a scene together. From what the images can reveal, it appears that the scene will involve their characters sharing a kiss, but right before things get more intimate, Johnson's Nick may have said something, forcing Reagan to leave him by the curb.

Fox's outfit is also given attention. Her character Reagan dons a tiny pair of denim shorts and a scoop-neck white shirt, an outfit which, according to the report, showcases Fox's toned legs and body shape. Wrapped around her waist is a sweater and she has her hair down loosely.

It is also noted that Nick appears to be cringing as Fox walks away, further implying that he might have said something to make her go away instead of sitting there with him to share another kiss.

However, this kiss might imply that Reagan will cause further trouble for the already rocky relationship between Nick and Jess. The two already had split up and went back in the past seasons. This new development might mean Nick will greet Jess with even more trouble instead of reuniting with her with the full intention of strengthening their relationship.

It was previously reported that Jess will be seen through the first five episodes as Deschanel was able to film before taking leave. Jess and Reagan will get to interact although it is undetermined at this point how many episodes the two will share. However, with Reagan flirting with Nick, it is likely any interaction between the girls will not start off good.

"New Girl" season 5 premieres this Jan. 5, 2016.
