Nintendo has just announced that the 2018 incarnation of the popular basketball simulation game series "NBA 2K" will be released in September 2017 for the Nintendo Switch.

The announcement was made on the official website of Nintendo. However, the specific date of release has not been revealed yet. Nonetheless, the date is consistent with the game publisher's tradition of releasing "NBA 2K" games within the month of September. This will be the first game in the series that will be playable on the Nintendo Switch.

As with the previous titles in the series, "NBA 2K18" will allow gamers to build their own player and set him up for his virtual career in basketball. They can also build their own team and even take control of the entire league should they wish to, through the My LEAGUE and MyGM features. Up to 10 gamers can play together at a given time. More features will be announced later on as the release date nears.

No word has been given yet on whether "NBA 2K18" will also be available for other consoles such as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. GottaBeMobile predicts that should the game be released for other gaming consoles, this will be released within the month of September, same with the Nintendo Switch version.

Fans are hoping that the game publisher will once again host an "NBA 2K Tip-Off Weekend" to allow gamers to play "NBA 2K18" prior to the game's actual release. This has been the standard for the company, so it is likely that it will continue this trend for this title.

"NBA 2K" is a long-running video game series. It remains popular among fans not only because of its good simulations, but also because the game producers ensure that characters' stats resemble the real-life performance of the players in the court. It is published by 2K Games and developed by Visual Concepts.
