Was it a ghost? A paranormal activity? Or could it possibly be an apparition of Jesus walking on water? These were the questions asked by netizens after a video clip was posted online showing a mysterious figure on a lake in Michigan, U.S.A.

The video shows an unidentifiable figure seemingly floating on water. Viewers were at odds on what the figure really was. While some thought it's merely a blurred image of a lighthouse, others with wilder imagination suspected it to be the apparition of a "ghost ship" or a "UFO rising from an underwater base," according to Express.

A blurb for the video uploaded by Jason Asselin reads: "Saturday evening far off coast from Marquette, Michigan, appeared this mysterious ship that had to be gigantic! Almost as if a ghost ship was showing itself to the world.. Even if it were a ship, what could be that tall in these choppy waves?"

Meanwhile, a couple of viewers couldn't help but make biblical associations. "Looks like Jesus and Peter out for a stroll, to me," one commented, while another added: "Looks more like Jesus walking on water."

In the Bible passage Matthew 14:22-33, Jesus performed a miracle by walking on water. When Jesus first appeared to His disciples, they grew afraid and even suspected Him to be a ghost. But Jesus told them to "take courage" and to follow Him.

Peter was the one who responded and told Jesus, "Lord, if it's you, tell me to come to you on the water." Jesus did so, and Peter began walking towards Him. But when Peter felt the winds, he grew afraid and began to sink. He asked Jesus to save Him, and Jesus did. But Peter was reprimanded: "You of little faith. Why did you doubt?"

When Jesus and Peter finally reached the boat, people were in awe and said, "Truly, you are the Son of God."
