This week on "Modern Family," Alex (Ariel Winter) left for college and immediately had to deal with her 15-year old roommate Maisie (Chloe Csengery). Meanwhile, Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) try to adjust with the changes that come with being a one-income family, while Luke (Nolan Gould) and Phil (Ty Burrell) were up to their usual shenanigans. So what's in store for the Pritchetts and the Dunphys next week?

In the episode titled "The Closet Case," Haley (Sarah Hyland) gets her dad to help her convince her mom to let Dylan (Reid Ewing) move in on a temporary basis, but Phil has second thoughts when he sees just what living together entails. Meanwhile, Mitchell, who's determined to earn a living after quitting his old job, will get hired as a consultant by Jay's (Ed O'Neill) biggest business rival. Manny (Rico Rodriguez) has a girl problem in school, but Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Cameron are at odds over how he should handle it.

Fans might be surprised to know that Haley is so determined to have her on-off boyfriend live with her when many were rooting for her and Andy (Adam DeVine) to be together. At first glance, it seems like the two wouldn't be good for each other because Haley is often attracted to superficial boys, while Andy seems to like responsible women. But viewers are rooting for them because the two seen to genuinely like each other and they each make the other see that there's more than one way to do things. Haley appears to be just the person to inspire Andy to loosen up a bit, while Andy seems to be a positive influence on the happy-go-lucky girl.

In an interview with Yahoo, co-creator Christopher Lloyd said that this season, the two will be making "small steps" because they are both too scared to make a grand gesture in order to be together.

"They've sort of been taking it in small steps up until this point, and sort of each is a little bit afraid of making too much of a move. And that kind of continues through the coming season," said Lloyd.

"Modern Family" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
