F1 racing legend Michael Schumacher remains unchanged, according to a report from Express. The 46-year-old retired racer was injured over a year and a half ago while skiing, and although he has awoken from a medically induced coma, the report states that his recovery will take a very long time.

The report says that there is no guarantee Schumacher will get back to normal. Very little information is known at this point as the family has blacked out all media outlets from their Switzerland home, where Schumacher is recovering.

What is known is that his progress is going by very slowly. The racing champion reportedly remains mute but he shows signs of awareness. According to the report, he cries when he recognizes people in his room, particularly his children.

Meanwhile, his children have started to step out of their home and back into the spotlight. According to a report from the Daily Mail, Schumacher's 17-year old daughter Gina Maria recently took part in a German horse show. She was a participant in the NRHA European Futurity Horse Show, and was reported to have taken part in the First Go-Round 2nd Section and will continue in the grand finals.

Her brother, 16-year old Mick, also made a comeback to the racing circuit a few weeks following his 100 mph crash. Mick opened his pre-season Formula 4 debut in Germany but again almost hit another tragedy as he veered off the track and into the gravel.

Mick's advancement comes after his seven-year reign in kart racing. According to a report from the Guardian, his participation in the racing circuit is his means of coping with his father's slow recovery progress. The young Schumacher is also surrounded by a strong "defense team" comprised of his family and his father's friends.

"We musn't forget this is a young man who has only just turned 16," stated Sebastian Kehm, Mick's manager.
