The Miami Heat continue to have Mario Chalmers and Chris Anderson in tow and despite dangling the two in the NBA market, nothing has come close of happening.

The Heat are trying to avoid the repeater tax for the coming season and the two veteran Heat players could provide Pat Riley a big sigh of relief.

Of the two, Andersen seems to be the player that the team is trying to part with, seeing that his position has become redundant with the rise of Hassan Whiteside and the entry of Gerald Green and veteran Amar'e Stoudemire.

Andersen carries a heavy $5 million salary, but it seems that the Heat may have trouble trading the 37-year-old energy player as most teams have more or less filled up their frontline needs.

The case with Chalmers is no different as teams in need of a point guard continue to grow thin. The Heat could end up keeping Chalmers, at least for the meantime, until a team shows interest in acquiring him sometime in the early part of next season.

Chalmers is expected to be at training camp and should he continue to be in the lineup come opening night, Chalmers is likely to end up with a backup role, possibly third string, considering that Goran Dragić and Dwyane Wade will be the first options of coach Erik Spoelstra.

For Andersen, retirement could be lingering in the air as interest in his services has gone dry.

The Heat were reportedly interested in a possible trade that would land them Jamal Crawford, but it doesn't look like the Clippers are interested in Andersen in exchange. Crawford could become the odd man out eventually with the entry of Lance Stephenson.

And this is where interest in Jamal Crawford steps in. Aside from the Heat, the Cleveland Cavaliers have also shown interest as well; so if Miami really wants to acquire him, they have to address first their deals with Andersen and Chalmers.
