The world lost a great comedian and an outstanding actor with the passing of Robin Williams, but for Marsha Garces, she lost the father of her two kids.

Garces, Williams' second wife and the mother of Zelda Rae and Cody Williams, issued a statement about the untimely passing of the Oscar-winning actor.

"My heart is split wide open and scattered over the planet with all of you. Please remember the gentle, loving, generous - and yes, brilliant and funny - man that was Robin Williams. My arms are wrapped around our children as we attempt to grapple with celebrating the man we love, while dealing with this immeasurable loss," Garces said.

The award-winning comedian was found dead in his own home in Tiburon located in San Francisco Bay Area on Monday. He apparently died from asphyxia due to suicide.

Garces, born to a Filipino father and a Finnish mother, married Williams on April 20, 1989. They stayed together for 19 years until their divorce in 2008.

There were rumors circulating for a lot of years that Williams had an affair with Garces, who used to be the nanny of his first child Zachary Pym, while he was still married to his first wife Velarie Velardi. The first marriage ended in 1988.

The relationship between Garces and Williams extended beyond husband and wife, since she also worked with him as the producer of some of his most popular movies, including Patch Adams, Jakob the Liar, as well as Mrs. Doubtfire. She was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy for producing Robin Williams: Live on Broadway.

The couple decided to file for divorce on 2008, citing irreconcilable differences. It was reported that their marriage turned after the actor relapsed from his alcohol addiction. The divorce was made official in 2010.

Williams' current wife is Susan Schneider, who requested to respect the family during this time of grieving.
