MacBook Pro, Air 2016 release date, specs news: Laptops expected to be unveiled this month

According to a recent report from Forbes, it is expected that the new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models will be launching either this month or at least in the few weeks after.

The report continues to point out that one of the major reasons for the delay in the new MacBook Air and Pro is the delay in the release of the Intel Skylake-U processor. Apple has reportedly been waiting for these new processors in order to immediately implement them into their new MacBook product line.

Forbes also states that the 15-inch and 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina will see a few design changes given that they have not been given any physical redesigns since 2012. Both laptops have still been receiving praise due to their long battery life but the fact that they still rely on old processor chips may be the hint that Apple is looking to drastically upgrade them with the Intel Skylake chips.

The report also explains that consumers may want to be a bit more wary when it comes to the launch of the 13-inch MacBook Air 2016 as it may either be phased out entirely or see a total design change.

The last major design change was reportedly back in 2010, therefore consumers are advised to wait first to see if anything else has improved, such as the laptop's screen resolution and thickness. This is the same advice given to consumers looking to purchase the upcoming 12-inch MacBook with Retina.

All of the laptops are speculated to launch sometime this March, although it is possible that the product line will be split in half, with a majority coming out a few months later, like in June. This will prevent the company from saturating the market with too many products, although Apple has yet to confirm or deny this rumor.
