'Lucifer' season 2 spoilers: New season rumored to be longer than original 13 episode run

With season 2 of "Lucifer" premiering soon, it is said that the new run will have more than 13 episodes.

According to a hint posted by the creative team for the show, season 2 of the hit Fox TV series "Lucifer" may have more than 13 episodes, though it remains to be seen. However, having a 13-episode run is already guaranteed by the network. Should this prove to be true, then the new season will be longer than its original run, which premiered in earlier this year and also ran for 13 episodes. Season 1 ended last April 25.

Meanwhile, although how the next season will run is still unclear, some have already predicted that it may touch on Amenadiel's Mom, who is coming from Hell. According to Yibada, show writer and executive producer Joe Henderson teased about "Lucifer" season 2 at this year's San Diego Comic-Con.

Henderson stated, "Season two? Mom. If you want to go from one word to two words, Tricia Helfer. She is awesome. She just came in and owned the role in a way you rarely see but when you hire Tricia Helfer, you know is going to happen."

It is also hinted that season 2's run may also show a backstory on Maze, though it is unclear on what episode it will be. Henderson also teased, "A lot of fun will be had with Mom being back on Earth and Maze wanting to finish what she started."

Although the creative team is current in production for episode 9, some of the upcoming runs have already been spoiled online. The season premiere will air on Sept. 19, titled "Everything's Coming Up Lucifer." This may hint that Tricia Helger may already appear in the show premiere.

Meanwhile, episode 2 is titled "Liar, Liar, Slutty Dress on Fire," while the latest episode confirmed is episode 7, "My Little Monkey," airing on Oct. 31.
