Earlier this year, Lenovo released a 2-in-1, detachable laptop/tablet PC called the Miix 510. Touted as an excellent Microsoft Surface Pro 4 competitor, the handy device got rave reviews for its design, stellar battery life, crystal-clear screen, and advanced features. Now, a new leak suggests that the company is working on a follow-up to the device, with the upcoming 2-in-1 said to be called the Miix 520.

According to German website WinFuture (via Phone Arena), the Miix 520 will be powered by Intel's seventh-generation Kaby Lake processor. It is tipped to have a 12.3-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and will be available in variants ranging between the Intel Core i3-6006U with 4 GB of random access memory and the Intel Core i7-7500U with 16 GB of RAM. The device is also said to come in different internal storage options ranging from 128 GB and 1 TB of internal memory.

As an upgrade on the current device, the Miix 520 is said to have a dual camera setup at the back, which is comprised of an 8-megapixel sensor and a secondary 2-megapixel camera for augmented reality. The 2-in-1 will also have a 5-megapixel camera at the front for selfies and video chats. This would be a definite improvement over the Miix 510, which has a 5-megapixel autofocus main camera and 2-megapixel fixed focus front shooter.

It was also said that the Miix 520 will have stereo speakers, Dolby Advanced Audio certification, and three USB ports. One of the ports is said to be a USB 3.0 Type-A and the other two are USB 3.1 Type-C ports.

A release date for the Lenovo Miix 520 has not been mentioned in the leak, but it is likely that the device might make its debut in October 2017. As for the 2-in-1's price, it is possible that it could start at $800 for the base model, as the current version's base version was priced at $750 when it was launched.
