The season 9 finale of How I Met Your Mother aired on Monday, March 31, 2014.

Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), Ted (Josh Radnor), Marshall (Jason Segel), Lily (Alyson Hannigan), Robin (Cobie Smulders) bowed out of the show after nine years of gracing the small screen.

The hit comedy series came to an end this week and viewers got to see what happens to the "Mother".

Creators and producers had remained tight-lipped on what happens to the Mother in 2030 since the 9<sup>th season premiered in September 2013.

"How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 episodes 23, 24 will aired Monday on CBS at 8 p.m. The penultimate hour-long episode titled "Last Forever Parts One and Two" saw Ted finally finishing the story of how he met their mother.

Preview clips of the finale episode show Marshall talking about his job as a corporate lawyer and Robin and Barney dancing together after their wedding.

Producers of the show promised a happy ending to the show.

Director Pam Fryman recently told TV Guide: "People are so sure and they have such an opinions about what they think is going to happen, but nobody is 100 percent right. I think people will be happy with the way this plays out. It's a great ending."
