Gibson Plans New Pope John Paul II Film

After releasing the controversial "The Passion of The Christ," actor/director Mel Gibson has plans for another religious film about Pope John Paul II, reports say.

As the world witnessed the death of the late pontiff on April 5, according to Pagesix.com, Gibson dispatched a film crew to the Vatican City to capture scenes at the funeral, which was observed by millions of people.

John Paul, who led the world's one billion Roman Catholics for 26 years, is respected by millions worldwide as a spiritual and moral leader in history.

Gibson's "The Passion" had taken a total of US$604 milllion at movie theatres worldwide, making it a massive box office hit.

Reports of Gibson planning a third religious epic that depicts three children who claimed to have seen a vision of the Virgin Mary have also been released.
