'Frozen 2' rumors: Upcoming film's main song to be a duet; Olaf getting a girlfriend?

Characters from the Disney film "Frozen"

"Frozen 2" was announced earlier this year but there had been very little information about the upcoming movie. Creating the sequel to the 2013 hit animated movie is sure to be a challenge, as fans are expecting "Frozen 2" to be equally engaging, or perhaps, even better than the original film.

Many have been eager to know more about the upcoming film, and this month, director Christopher Buck confirmed that the project is in its early stages and that he and co-director Jennifer Lee have been working on the story. And while no other information about the film's plot has been revealed, there has been much speculation about "Frozen 2," particularly about the main song and its supporting character, Olaf the snowman (Josh Gad).

While Olaf served up a lot of the comedic moments in the first film, it is said that in the sequel, the snowman might have something in the way of romance, as The Telegraph claims that Olaf could get a girlfriend. With Anna (Kristen Bell) and Kristoff being together, and Elsa (Idina Menzel) now comfortable with her powers, Olaf may need somebody to be with as the sisters will be preoccupied with the people in their lives and ruling the kingdom.

Meanwhile, there has also been talk about the film's musical score. Much of the first film's success is due to its songs, with the most popular being "Let It Go" which was sung by Menzel. All of the songs were composed by the husband-and-wife songwriting team of Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. For now, it is unclear whether they will be returning for the sequel as the couple has been busy with their new musical titled "Up Here," but Telegraph reports that the sequel's main song could be a duet between Anna and Elsa.

While fans were expecting that more news about the sequel was going to be announced at the Frozen Fandemonium event at the D23 Expo 2015 which was held earlier this month, there was no mention of "Frozen 2," but it was revealed that Lopez and Anderson-Lopez are going to write the songs for Disney's upcoming Jack and the Beanstalk animated film titled "Gigantic."

No premiere date has been announced as of the moment for "Frozen 2."
