'Frozen 2' movie sequel cast rumors: Jennifer Lawrence approached to be the next Queen Elsa?

 Disney

There truly is great magic behind Disney's "Frozen" as the world has yet to recover from the hype of the animated musical fantasy-comedy movie since it was first released more than a year ago. Fans cannot help but think what else there is left for Elsa, Anna and the gang to explore. This has prompted rumor mills to work full time on the possibility of a sequel, which moviegoers call "Frozen 2."

As far as casting goes, KDramaStars reported that Disney executives have considered actress Jennifer Lawrence to join the cast in continuing the enchanting story of love and family. The star best known as the crossbow-bearing tribute Katniss Everdeen in "The Hunger Games" franchise is allegedly being considered to take on the role of Elsa, who was brought to life and made to sing the award-winning soundtrack "Let It Go" by Idina Menzel.

Reports from OK magazine suggest that JLaw's "The Hanging Tree" performance in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1" caught the attention of the people at Disney. Also, the insider told the magazine that the 24-year-old celebrity having a massive fanbase and being "relevant" will help the "Frozen" follow-up net more viewers. As for the actress's side, Realty Today reported that her camp is rather unenthusiastic of the idea.

Meanwhile, the site also mentioned that the hyped-up flick is being worked on, as Menzel told Telegraph. However, her return in the film has not been made official just yet. Emily Blunt's alleged involvement in the franchise was also slammed personally by the star, who said that she is happy for her friend Kristen Bell about the movie's success.

Disney has yet to corroborate on the matter.

For now, avid fans of the franchise can wait for the short film titled "Frozen Fever"  to be released on March 13 in front of the live-action film "Cinderella," and enjoy the "Anna & Elsa" chapter-book series, published by Random House.
