'Friday the 13th: The Game' pocket knives news: New patch decreases number of knives on the map

A new update has rolled out for IllFonic's "Friday the 13th: The Game," and it reduces the amount of pocket knives and medical sprays found around the map, making counselors a lot more vulnerable and making Jason that much deadlier.

Presented in a rather tongue-in-cheek manner, as if they were writing a memo for an actual group of kids going to summer camp, developer IllFonic recently announced some changes they will be making with regard to the tools available on the map for counselors.

"We have received multiple reports that many of you are bringing more pocket knives than could possibly be necessary to camp," they wrote. "In addition to pocket knives, there is an abundance of sharp-edged and blunt instruments that can be used as weaponry."

To put it in layman's terms, the latest update of the game has reduced the number of available weapons and pocket knives that counselors can pick up. This is due to the fact that high-level counselors have made the game trivial because of the abundance of tools available to them to avoid getting caught by Jason. Hopefully this change will shift the balance back to even grounds.

"Due to the abandonment of expensive medical inventory – Med Sprays - all over the grounds, we have been forced to reduce the amount available," they added, meaning they will be lowering the spawn rate for healing tools as well.

In addition to these changes to item spawns, the new update adds the Jason from the fifth movie, "Friday the 13th: A New Beginning," as well as Pinehurst, the camp grounds from the same film.

The new Jason will have no level requirement and has access to three grab kills: Hedge Trimmer, Last Breath, and You're So Vein.

The new update is available now for all owners of the game.
