Franklin Graham wants people to pray for 'the most important election' in U.S. history

A lot is at stake in the 2016 American presidential elections, and Reverend Franklin Graham wants people to bow their heads down in prayer so that America will be able to elect a worthy leader who can redeem their nation from the downward moral spiral it is currently suffering from.

Graham posted this message on his Facebook page a day before the Republican presidential candidates held their fifth and final debate this year on Tuesday night.

The evangelist said he might have agreed with some of the things said by some Republican presidential candidates, but he reiterated once again that he is not endorsing any particular hopeful in next year's election.

"But I am strongly endorsing prayer — and I'm strongly urging Christians to get out and vote," he says. "We need to elect candidates at all levels that most closely support biblical values and principles. This may be the most important election in our nation's history. America is headed in the wrong direction and only God can turn it around. That's why I'm going to all 50 states in 2016, from capital to capital, to hold prayer rallies for our country."

Graham is referring to his Decision America Tour, which will be a part of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA). The tour will kick off on Jan. 5 at the capitol building of Des Moines, Iowa, followed by the prayer rally at the capitol building in Tallahassee, Florida, on Jan. 12. They will be moving the prayer rally to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Jan. 13 followed by the prayer rally at the capitol building in Concord, New Hampshire.

"I want to challenge Christians across our land to boldly live out and promote biblical principles at home, in public and at the ballot box. The only hope for this country is if the people of God are willing to take a stand for truth and righteousness," he says.
