"Fast & Furious 8" is really happening and it was already confirmed by none other than "Fast & Furious" star Vin Diesel himself.

The actor announced the news back at CinemaCon last April and he added that the movie is slated for release in April 2017.

However, fans are not really convinced about the sequel since "Furious 7" appeared to end with a closure. With "Furious 8," people are not sure how the movie will work out now that Paul Walker, one of the major cast members, is dead.

But Diesel gave the confirmation anyway and he even revealed that Kurt Russell will be starring in the upcoming movie, playing as Mr. Nobody.

Apart from what Diesel had revealed about the movie, it was also reported that Australian "Orange is the New Black" actress, Ruby Rose, will also be joining "Furious 8."

The 29-year-old former MTV VJ has been linked to the "Fast & Furious" franchise, but the production denied this because a producer said she bears striking resemblance to popstar Justin Bieber, according to a report from Australia Network News.

Rose isn't the only star to have been linked to the upcoming movie. It was also reported by Enstarz that "Paper Town" actress Cara Delevingne was also rumored to join "Furious 8" playing a villain.

So far, what's known about the franchise is that Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson will be back. There's also a great possibility that Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, and Michelle Rodriguez will also return.

In another related "Fast & Furious 8" report, it was mentioned that a spin-off of the movie will be made and will feature Johnson.

According to ScreenRant, the "San Andreas" actor, who played CIA agent Luke Hobbs in the "Furious" movies, is currently engaged in talks about the possible spin-off.

"We all are interested in it. I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we'll see," Johnson said, according to the report.
