Viewers have waited a long time for the return of CBS' detective drama series, "Elementary," and the very first episode of the new season will already have a special task in store for Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Joan Watson (Lucy Liu). The season 6 premiere will see the duo back together to solve the case of an heiress' missing lover, although the two must also settle their differences before taking on this new mission.

Based on the official synopsis for "Elemetary" season 6 episode 1, titled "An Infinite Capacity for Taking Pains," Joan and Sherlock will be hired by a socialite to track down her missing boyfriend. The duo's latest client believes that her lover was responsible for the circulation of a sex video that was taped many years ago. Now, Joan and Sherlock must find him before he can use the video to extort money.

On the other hand, "Elementary" season 6 episode 1 will also introduce a new ally for Sherlock. The popular crime detective will find a trustworthy confidante in Michael (Desmond Harrington), a person who claims to be indebted to Sherlock as the latter helped him overcome his drug addiction. This time around, Michael would like to return the favor to Sherlock by helping him out with his current problem.

It was already reported back in July that the new character, Michael, will provide support to Sherlock during his most desperate times. Unfortunately, it was also tipped that Michael may not have pure intentions in helping Sherlock to fight his current condition. While he is willing to help Sherlock back to his old self, Michael also wants something big in return for this help. From the very start, Michael is already planning his move to meet Sherlock and build a bond with him, so that he can use this newfound connection for his own personal gain.

"Elementary" season 6 episode 1 will air on Monday, April 30 at 10 p.m. EDT on CBS.
