"Dungeons & Dragons" (D&D) is one of the oldest table-top games, and yet it still is alive until now. It has had millions and millions of players and dozens of features more than any other game given its borderless creativity. Now, it looks like that creativity will definitely be tested when its movie gets released in a few years.

Having just been partnered with Paramount, the "D&D" movie has now been set for an October 1, 2021 release. Not much else has been said about the movie, but fans can at least rest assured that the movie is definitely in the works. There has not been much news about the movie since its first announcement back in 2015.

Since then, the pre-production of the movie has been through different stages. Since the movie will be featured in a game, or rather a part of the game, specifically, "Wizards of the Coast," there have been legal settlements that needed to be paid. Needless to say, that part is done.

The next steps for the producers, Hasbro, Sweetpea Entertainment, and Warner Bros., is to really just plan everything else out like any other movie before they actually start productions. There was news of a casting last year; however, nobody really knows what has happened to it since then. According to Variety, the news revolved around negotiations with Ansel Elgort to possibly play the lead but to seemingly no success.

The "D&D" game itself might not be familiar to most millennials due to the newer technology and thus newer games. However, it has been featured in some shows, most notably, "Stranger Things," that got its viewers interested in the game again.

For those who have not seen at least the first season yet, the popular sci-fi show started with four kids playing "D&D." In the game, they were battling a boss called the Demogorgon. Little did the kids know that this could actually become real. The monsters in the series have then been called by this name.
