Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) will finally have some time for love when Fox's series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" returns for its third season.

The International Business Times reports that season 3 may be chance of the tough female detective to let herself go and be a woman for a change. Rosa's romantic connection with Marcus (Nick Cannon), which started last season, may well be realized as the two look forward to taking it to the next level.

Rosa and Captain Holt's (Andre Braugher) nephew started playing some sweet music together in season 2. The former freely admitted that Marcus was the first person to inspire any romantic feelings in her, as she was usually antagonistic toward the male specie. In an episode last installment, Rosa even admitted that she loved him.

For his part, Marcus was a perfect suitor. He constantly showered Rosa with affection, even planning a surprise birthday party for her. And while season 2 ended with hardly any spoiler regarding the two's relationship, fans are hopeful that Rosa would figure out how important Marcus is to her and start a more serious relationship with him.

Another couple who could be giving their relationship a chance for season 3 is the tandem of Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero). The last time viewers saw them, they were planning a date that Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) almost busted. Movie Pilot reports that Jake and Amy's romance will be front and center, but cautioned that it will not be an easy road for them.

Producer Dan Goor revealed that their friendship was certainly complicated enough without the added pressure of romance. The two even admitted they have feelings for each other, but still decided not to date. Their kiss last installment, however, gave a different feel entirely, and fans were one in saying that they should be together soon. Will everything work out for the lovebirds?

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 will premiere on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 8:30 p.m. EST on Fox.
