'Bloodborne' glitch makes bosses fight at reduced AI level €” leaves game running for 12 hours

Avid gamers found a unique workaround for those ridiculously hard boss fights in "Bloodborne" — leave the game running for around 12 hours first.

Reddit user meatballz discovered that running "Bloodborne" on his PlayStation 4 for over 12 hours leads to a memory glitch in the game, causing the AI in the game's bosses to decrease in levels and reduce the move sets in boss fights, thereby making the session much easier to complete.

Meatballz explains in his Reddit post, "I just tested this yesterday by turning off the PS4 power saving options and leaving Bloodborne running all night."

The user then adds that he tested this on a boss fight.

"Sure enough, when I played in the morning Logarius had transformed from an intense spell casting maniac into a senile old man who did nothing but attack with his scythe over and over," he said.

Other users added to the original post, saying that the glitch can be replicated when players take advantage of the newly-released suspend mode in the PS4. Some of the players even listed and outlined the reduced move sets by the game's bosses. For example, it seems that with the glitch, Mergo's Wet Nurse just walks toward the player while flailing and not using her powers like the dark cloud phase. Also, boss Micolash just prefers to hit players with melee physical attacks, foregoing his tentacle and cosmos attack.

Other bosses are likewise affected. For Ebrietas, there are no variations in the boss fights and the monster just repeats faceplanting and spitting blood. The Abhorrent beast, meanwhile, reduces his fighting variation to a single, three-hit combo repeatedly done.

Meatballz went on to say that the 12-hour suspend rule is not ironclad, and speculates that the glitch happens as long as the game is suspended for a long time.
