Bethel reaches Billboard top 10 with You Make Me Brave

The latest album to come from California-based worship ministry Bethel has made the US Billboard top 10, with sales nearly exceeding 14,000.

'You Make Me Brave' is also number one on the US Christian charts, and has even broken the top 25 in the UK.

Featuring acclaimed artists including Bethel's own Jenn Johnson, Steffany Gretzinger and Grammy-award winning Kari Jobe, the album came together following a three-day women's conference, and invites listeners into a place of deep, intimate worship.

"I'm excited for people to listen and to hear what the Lord is saying to them personally through it, and then also to find that launch pad in each song to worship - to identify where they're at with the Lord, and worship him from that place," Johnson has said of the album.

It has so far received rave reviews across the board; Charisma News has branded it "one of the most powerful and prophetic worship albums of the decade" while Soul-Audio.com says, "This is strong and powerful stuff and it's led by a virtual who's who of worship leaders and songwriters who deliver this set of twelve vertical tracks with desperate passion."

ChristianMusicZine.com also praises the album for "drawing people into communion with God" and has called it "a must buy".

Johnson adds that though the album solely features female vocalists, it speaks to the heart of all Christians. "Personally, I'm more excited about this than anything that we've ever done. I might be a little partial, but these girls killed it!" she says.

"This would be my favourite album by a long shot, even if I wasn't on it. I also don't think this project is just for women. I think this is a message for the church."

You Make Me Brave is available on iTunes now.
