5 Bible verses for when you feel exhausted and want to stop serving God

Serving the Lord is the best thing we can do with our time, our resources, our lives. In fact, we don't just "serve" God; we live for Him.

As God's children, freed and purchased by the blood of Christ the only begotten Son of God, we ought to realize that our lives are given to us as a trust from our Father. We are here on earth for His will, His purposes, and His pleasure.

As it is, we must realize that every little thing we do should be to the glory and praise of our good and gracious God and Father. He deserves all the glory and honor that we can give Him. In fact, He alone is worthy to be praised.

Many of us, however, get to a point of exhaustion and fatigue as we strive to do His will. Many of us feel like we need to take a break from all the work we do for God.

Worse, some of us feel too exhausted we just want to stop serving Him. This is probably because of the many struggles and challenges we face as we follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

Friends, don't give up. Rest if you have to but don't entertain the idea of quitting. God won't stop working on us, and we should not stop letting Him do His work through us.

To help encourage those who are weary in working for the Lord's pleasure, here are a few Bible verses to read and meditate on. I pray that we'll all be refreshed by the Lord as we read these.

Psalm 73:25-26

"Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

1 Corinthians 15:57-58

"But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

"And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

1 Peter 4:19

"Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator."

Matthew 11:28-30

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.""
