Youth for Christ, in partnership with Centre for Youth Ministry (CYM), is pleased to announce it is now offering volunteers in its youth branch, yfcone, the chance to get started on their youth work degree.
Yfcone is Youth for Christ's year-out programme for 17-25 year-olds, giving the opportunity to do long- or short-term missions, in the UK or overseas for three, six or 11 months. Volunteers are trained and mentored in youth-work and evangelism and helped to discover and develop their particular gifts, identity and future.
It is a three-year degree course that bridges the gap between the volunteer youth work experience of yfone's year-out programme and being a qualified youth worker.
The course aims to give prospective youth workers a great opportunity to build up a broad array of youth work experience through placements and to enhance the first-year experience of volunteers.
Studying in Cambridge, Nottingham, Bristol and Oxford, volunteers will go on placements that will be local to these four study bases. For those looking to get started in youth ministry, the new study option offers a brilliant way to gain practical, affordable and invaluable youth work experience and a fantastic qualification during their time with YFC, including a JNC in youthwork.
