The launch of the world’s first download service that provides religious TV and video content directly to mobile phones is set to take place.

After historic agreements were reached by some of the leading mobile phone networks in Britain and America, the JH2 Media Suite has announced it is set to be launched later this month.

17th April 2006 has been scheduled as the date that customers using T Mobile, Vodafone, 3 Mobile, Virgin Mobile and O2, and U.S.-based customers who use Cingular, AT & T, Sprint, Verizon, T Mobile, Dobson, and Altel network services, will be able to download gospel music videos, sermons, inspirational services and excerpts from religious TV programmes being made available by the JH2 Media Suite onto their mobile phones.

The CEO of JH2 Media, Jennifer Hughes said, “I am really excited that JH2 Media is the first company in the world to provide a service which allows people to download Christian visual content onto their mobile phones.

“I think the JH2 Mobile Media Suite will revolutionise the way churches communicate with their members, and provide believers with a range of inspirational visual material which will keep them spiritually motivated and help deepen their faith.”

Visual content will be provided for mobile phones by JH2 Media Suite, and the organisation is looking to cooperate with church leaders, gospel artists, record labels and Christian organisations to release spiritually inspiring visual programmes which can then be made accessible to the Christian community on their mobiles.

Ruach Ministries in Brixton, south London and Kingsway International Christian Centre in Hackney, east London are two major British churches that have signed up to the JH2 Media Suite.

Leading religious TV networks that will utilise this new service are The Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN) and the Word Network in the US and Revelation TV and R Music in the UK.

TV programme excerpts will be available for download to mobile phones once the service goes online later this month.

Hughes stated, “We live in an age where strong visual images play a part in conveying important messages. I really hope churches across the denominational spectrum will make use of this new medium and create vibrant and arresting TV images that will play a major role in sharing the church's message of faith, hope and love in Christ.”

“The JH2 Media Suite can also be a tool churches use to reach young people. Their mobile phones are with them all the time and this grouping are the driving force behind the growth of mobile phone downloads,” Hughes concluded.
