World Evangelical Alliance Welcomes New Member to North American Council

The World Evangelical Alliance has welcomed Dr David J Jang, president of the Olivet Center for World Mission in San Francisco as the newest member of the Alliance's North American Council.

"We are delighted by Dr Jang's appointment to our North American Council," said Geoff Tunnicliffe, International Director of the WEA. "Dr. Jang has a wealth of experience in Christian higher education and cutting edge mission strategies. He will be a great asset to the global work of the World Evangelical Alliance."

Dr Jang, recalled by many as a visionary leader and scholar, has devoted his life to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ as pastor and theologian. He has supported WEA in various capacities since his introduction to the Alliance in August 2005.

"I am deeply honoured by and grateful for the trust WEA placed in me," commented Dr Jang on his appointment. "I will work diligently, together with individuals across the vast network of WEA, to reward this trust."

Dr Jang is the founder of the international mission organisation OCWM. He is also the founder and inaugural president of Olivet University, a Bible-based institution of higher learning based in downtown San Francisco, where he currently serves as chancellor.
