Despite all the hurt she endured with his fling with Alison (Ruth Wilson), Helen (Maura Tierney) is prepared to take back Noah (Dominic West) in season 3 of the Showtime series "The Affair."

Viewers witnessed how heartbroken Helen was when her husband chose his concubine over their family. There were moments when she got reprieve from the pain by drinking alcohol, as she watched her whole life crumble in front of her. Helen, though, remained strong for her kids, even when Noah paraded the fact that Alison was pregnant with their child. They filed for divorce, and it appeared to be the end of several years of marriage.

But when Noah became the primary suspect for Scotty's (Colin Donnell) death, it was Helen who became his number one supporter. They were actually planning to get back together the night of Scotty's accident. Their car hit Scotty and it resulted to his unfortunate death. During the season 2 finale, Noah admitted in court that he was the one driving that fateful night, when in fact, it was Helen who was behind the wheel. He did not want her to become involved with the case, perhaps as a payback for all the pain he caused her.

As Noah faces prison time, viewers can expect that it will be Helen who visits him the most in jail. Alison will likely remove herself from all the drama, as she knows Noah has not forgiven her for lying to him. Her daughter was not his and he finally learned the truth during the finale. Still, Noah did not divulge that it was Alison who pushed Scotty toward the road the night of the accident. In an interview with Variety, Tierney talked about her character and how she would be dealing with the whole situation.

"I think of her as a woman struggling to handle a very difficult situation. I think she doesn't know how to gracefully handle all of this bad stuff. I don't think she's consciously trying to be graceful, but I want her to achieve that because I think that shows a lot of integrity if you can handle tough times with a certain amount of equanimity. So I see her as someone trying to get there," the Golden Globes winner said.

"The Affair" season 3 is expected to premiere this fall on Showtime.
