Steven Curtis Chapman Announces 16th Album, Asia and US Tour

|PIC1|As Steven Curtis Chapman wraps up his sixteenth studio album with Sparrow Records, the Grammy Award winning singer announced his autumn 2007/winter 2008 tour.

The US tour will feature popular artists and fellow label mates Sanctus Real and Bethany Dillon. The tour is yet to be named.

Chapman says, "I'm so glad the Sanctus guys and Bethany accepted my invite to join me on this tour. I love their music, song writing, and their hearts for Jesus. I'm also humbled at the chance to again get out on the road and share the new music that God has given me. There's a modern edge to the music, what I hope is a fresh and compelling theme across the songs."

"My passion in writing, recording and touring continues to be to know God and make Him known, and that's what each night on this tour is going to be about. That's our prayer," he continued.

Prior to heading out this autumn, Chapman will cross overseas to Asia for extensive work with his family and the organisation he founded, Shaohannah's Hope, to help orpahns. Part of his work will include visits at local orphanages.

Chapman will also take time out to play two events in the Philippines (29-30 June) and perform as a part of the amazing Hillsong Conference in Australia (4-5 July).

His upcoming release is slated to hit stores 20 September.

Steven Curtis Chapman has won five Grammy Awards in his career, most recently at the 2005 awards for his release All Things New. Chapman has sold over ten million records including two RIAA certified platinum albums and seven RIAA certified gold albums. Along with his Dove and Grammy Awards, Chapman has won an American Music Award, and has recorded 44 Number 1 US radio hits.
