'Sherlock' season 4: Top 5 spoilers for new season

Sherlock season 3 BBC

"Sherlock" will be back on air in 2016 with three episodes, and new spoilers of the much-beloved television series have already emerged.  Below are the top five spoilers for the upcoming fourth season of "Sherlock".

1. It is (im)possible for Moriarty to come back

Topping the list of spoilers is the rumor that Moriarty is coming back. Before the beginning of season 3, series co-creator, writer and executive producer Steven Moffat made it clear that Moriarty is dead. He said that Moriarty shot himself in the face, which makes a comeback quite impossible.

However, Benedict Cumberbatch recently released a statement – one that fans probably misinterpreted – hinting the return of his adversary. When asked about the latter, the actor gave a vague answer.

"I casually choose to forget in order to rediscover it again a little,' he told MTV. "I like casually forgetting, not least because there's a lot of other traffic between then and now but also because it's more fun because it's slightly more fresh. It's a very good idea, I do remember that detail. I'm just trying not to remember it so I don't blurt it out."

2. Baby Watson will join next season

In the previous season, fans celebrated after Watson tied the knot with Mary Morstan. In the final episode of season 3, Mary is heavily pregnant. This led to speculations that she will give birth next season. This little person will largely affect the lives of Mary, Watson and Sherlock as they also need to adjust with the new member of the family.

3. Molly and Sherlock in a relationship?

There is no denying that Sherlock and Molly share a very good chemistry on screen – so good that the Oxford English Dictionary used the two as an example in defining the word "ship," which means "to fall in love".

4. Tom Hiddleston to play the third Holmes brother

Rumors are going around claiming that Tom Hiddleston could play the third Holmes' brother, Sherrinford Holmes. In an interview in Brazil, "Sherlock" co-creator Mark Gatiss joked about Tom joining the cast. He said, "Tom would be wonderful in 'Sherlock. But he only does movies now. What can I say? I'll ask him if you like."

5. Mycroft will also return

Aside from Sherrinford Holmes, the other Holmess brother, Mycroft, is set to appear again next season.
