Fitz is in no way happy about what the media is saying about Liv and he is definitely upset about not being able to do something about it. In a sneak peek for this week's "Scandal" season 5 episode titled "Dog-Whistle Politics," the president let out all his rage to Elizabeth about how the White House stands nonchalantly as "every newspaper in the world" makes a hash of the political fixer.

"Liv's blindfolded on her knees before the firing squad and we're doing nothing," he grumbled, adding that even morning shows take a shot at bodging her. In a promo for the installment, Fitz is seen on a phone call with Olivia, where he asks her how she is doing as the media goes about "crucifying" her.

In this "Scandal" season 5 episode, fans will see Abby spend her last day at the office after she makes a mistake of walking in on an extremely aggravated Fitz. She tries to argue but the president quickly shushes her up, saying "You are done talking and you are fired."

As teased in the synopsis for the installment, Fitz will be slapped in the face with reality as he discovers first-hand "the true cost of mercy" when he learns about the fact that he does not have the support of everyone. The promo even shows Mellie saying that they want Fitz impeached so it looks like his time in the White House could be done too.

While Fitz's party cannot do anything to help Liv, the gladiators are doing everything they can to clean up the mess. In the "Scandal" season 5 episode, viewers will see Huck and Quinn enlist a familiar face that they believe will calm the media storm their boss is in. The synopsis also talks about an individual that Jake thought "he'd never see again."

Interestingly, in the promo, a glimpse of Eli Pope, Liv's father and the leader of the B613 organization the team jailed in season 4, is shown. Does he have something to do with what the gladiators are up to? Viewers will find out on Oct. 15 when "Scandal" season 5 episode 4 "Dog-Whistle Politics" airs 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
