For the second year running, Premier Christian Radio will be taking part in National Giving Week and will offer one thousand pounds a day to a listener's chosen charity.

Inspirational Breakfast listeners will have their chance to take part in Premier's Give it up for National Giving Week competition. Presenter John Pantry has asked entrants to write in to the radio station with stories of what they are planning to forfeit from the 16th to 22nd of October.

The top five entries will be announced across the week, with each winning entrant receiving one thousand pounds for the charity of their choice.

John Pantry commented, "Many Christians take part in the tradition of lent so have previous experience of giving up something they love for a good reason. Because of that we're expecting some fine entries for Give it up for National Giving Week."

In previous years, a nurse from Surrey used her £1000 from Premier to support orphans in Uganda, while another listener used her contribution to help a fledgling charity.

Peter Kerridge, the Chief Executive of Premier Radio, spoke of his pleasure in being able to contribute to National Giving Week with their Give it up for National Giving Week competition.

He said, "So many of our listeners are regular contributors to charities, giving both donation and their time. This competition is our chance to help our listeners reach out and make a real difference to a charity that is close to their hearts."
