"Penny Dreadful" is giving audiences a new look for its third season this spring.

It was announced last month that the production is heading to Spain to shoot the remaining scenes for season 3. According to Den of Geek, this location is perfect to film episodes that will shine the light on Ethan Chandler's (Josh Hartnett) past.

Ethan will be the new season's focus as he will be moving to the American West with Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton) to fight the evil forces in the area back in the 1800s. Part of season 3 is shot in Almeria and in the Andalusia region.

Looking at the set photos uploaded on Instagram, people will know more about Ethan's history. Previously, Ethan already revealed that back then he was a U.S. Army Cavalry soldier who helped pacify Native American tribes residing in the West.

Since his past will be one of the main highlights of the new season, it is speculated that scenes from when he was still a soldier will be featured.

In another photo, a pair of hairy, werewolf hands, presumably Ethan's, holding a cup of tea was shown, suggesting that season 3 will also feature more about the character in his werewolf form.

"Penny Dreadful" fans will finally get to see Hartnett's character figuring out how to control his transformation.

The production has been quite active on social media providing updates to fans about the progress of the filming. The show's official Twitter and Instagram accounts continue to tease fans about what's to come.

Meanwhile, the waiting game for "Penny Dreadful" is not that long as it was already announced during the Television Critics Association winter press tour last month that season 3 will premiere on May 1, taking the usual 10 p.m. EST timeslot on Showtime.
