NVIDIA GTX 1050 release date, specs rumors: Company to release affordable GPU by late October?

NVIDIA is rumored to release the GTX 1050 before the month of October ends.NVIDIA

NVIDIA is rumored to launch a budget-friendly video graphics card during the last few days of October. It is said to be called the GTX 1050 and will be Pascal-based, which means, it will have the same architecture found on the GTX 1080, but it will not put a dent in the wallet.

The GPU manufacturing giant has introduced Pascal-based GPUs targeting high-end gamers. The Titan X, the most powerful graphics card on the market aimed at hardcore gamers is priced at $1,200. After several months, the company then started introducing affordable GPUs. The GTX 1060 is around $200 and is aimed to compete with its competitor's offering, a $179 AMD Radeon RX 470 GPU.

Now, it is rumored that a GTX 1050 is in the works and will be made more affordable for those who really do not need a powerful GPU, but do not want to use the built-in GPUs in their desktop machines either. Two variants are speculated to arrive, 2 GB and 4 GB, and it could carry a $150 price tag.

It is speculated that the NVIDIA GTX 1050 will be using the GP 107 chip, which brings in a total of 768 CUDA Cores, and it is estimated to provide 48 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and 2.1 TFLOPs compute power. The clock speed is predicted to be 1318 MHz for the base and around 1380 MHz for the boosted speed. A GDDR5 class memory with 7 GHz clock speed is rumored to be included, which can then produce up to 112 GB/s bandwidth for its 128-bit bus interface.

Power consumption is estimated to be around 75W, so there is no need for future owners to upgrade their power supplies by the time it is available. It also would not require having its own power connector. Three Display Port 1.4, a single HDMI 2.0b, and a single DVI are the display ports that are said to be included in the product.

It was previously rumored that the new video graphics card may arrive by mid-October, but recent developments suggest that it may arrive between Oct. 24 to 28.

NVIDIA has not offered any official statement with its rumored GTX 1050 video graphics card.
