Nuns top Billboard Classical Traditional Music Chart

The Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles, have claimed the No 1 spot on Billboard magazine's Classical Traditional Music Chart for a second week in a row.

The album, Angels and Saints, is No 8 on the Overall Classical Music Chart. It has seen off competition from Fifty Shades of Grey: The Classical Album and Downton Abbey: The Essential Collection.

In addition to the CD, the album is available as a digital download for all devices via Amazon, Barnes & Noble and the iTunes Store.

It is the second time the sisters have reached No 1 on Billboard Magazine's Classical Traditional Music Chart. Last Christmas, their debut album, Advent at Ephesus, released by De Montfort Music/Decca, spent six weeks at No 1 on Billboard's Classical Music Chart.

"Once again The Benedictines of Mary have charted No 1 on Billboard's Classical Traditional Chart, demonstrating that the music speaks for itself," said Kevin Fitzgibbons, cofounder for De Montfort Music.

"As early listeners of this album will testify, the music is a taste of the peace and tranquility of monastic living.

"We are incredibly pleased that the sisters have been able to maintain their hidden life while simultaneously transmitting a work of beauty to the culture which will transform people for many years to come. We pray this is just the beginning of their contributions."
