New weight loss devotional via YouVersion Bible app

Kim Taylor (www.takebackyourtemple.com)

A new weight loss Bible reading plan has been launched through the popular YouVersion Bible application.

The seven-day reading plan has been put together by Kimberly Taylor, creator of the Take Back Your Temple website, and features content from her topselling book, "The Weight Loss Scriptures: The 30-Day Daily Devotional for Weight Loss Motivation."

Issues common among those struggling to lose weight are covered in the reading plan, such as how to stay motivated long enough to see results.

Taylor's advice is based on her own experience of once being 240 pounds and a size 22, to losing 85 pounds and managing to keep the weight off.

She credits her success with renewing her mind to God's word.

"Weight issues are not about size, but stewardship," Taylor says, "God is concerned about any behaviors in your life that hinder the Spiritual fruit you bear. In my case, compulsive overeating was that behaviour. The excess weight was just an outward manifestation of what was going on in my heart. But God healed me and showed me how to eliminate the issues that were weighing me down."

The devotional can be accessed by downloading and installing the free YouVersion bible app and going to the Weight Loss Scriptures Devotional Reading Plan.

If the YouVersion phone app is already installed, open the app, touch 'Start Plans,' 'Browse Plans,' and then use the search icon to locate the plan. Use "Weight Loss Scriptures" as the search keyword.

Reader Christal Davis said of The Weight Loss Scriptures content: "This is a very helpful and motivational way to look at weight loss. With continued disappointment from all of my previous efforts I had really started getting down and felt hopeless. This is changing my perspective. I am focusing on God's love! He does not create junk and loves me no matter what. I needed this encouragement."

In addition to "The Weight Loss Scriptures Devotional", Taylor has also published "The Anxiety Relief Scriptures Devotional" on YouVersion to help others who are struggling with worry, anxiety, and excess stress.
