New faith-based movie The Song inspired by Song of Solomon (Watch Trailer Here)

The same motion-picture company that gave the church Amazing Grace and Fireproof is set to release its next faith-based film this September.

The Song is a music-driven love story inspired by Song of Solomon and will be released to theatres on September 26 by Samuel Goldwyn Films.

It stars Alan Powell, lead singer of Anthem Lights, as aspiring singer-songwriter Jed King who reluctantly accepts a gig at the local vineyard harvest festival, only to find himself in love with the vineyard owner's daughter Rose (Ali Faulkner, Twilight: Breaking Dawn).

After they marry, he pens "The Song" for her and it becomes his breakout hit, but at the same time as his music career propels forward, he has to face all the temptations that come with it.  Trouble brews when fellow performer Shelby Bale (Caitlin Nicol-Thomas, Nashville) comes into his life.

The film was written and directed by Richard Ramsey, and produced by City on a Hill Studio.

"Richard Ramsey has created an incredibly touching and triumphant film about temptation, redemption and the power of forgiveness. We are proud to bring this moving and inspirational love story to the big screen and I'm certain it will resonate with audiences around the country," said Meyer Gottlieb, President of Samuel Goldwyn Films.

Ramsey said: "We wanted to make a film that was authentic and relatable. Samuel Goldwyn Films is known for bringing great stories like this to life, and we can't think of a better partner to distribute this movie. I think The Song is the kind of movie that will have people talking about things that really matter."
